Nice to meet you!

Hello! I’m Dr. Daneille Gray, the founder of Living in the Gray Therapy Services. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the states of Virginia and Tennessee and I hold a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lee University. I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals and communities navigate life’s challenges with insight, compassion, and hope.

I was born in Brooklyn, NY to Jamaican parents, and my upbringing is a big part of who I am and how I show up in my work. I attended predominantly Black elementary and middle schools, a racially diverse high school, and a predominantly White university. I have been exposed to many experiences that shaped my ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Alongside my lived experiences, my Christian faith is central to who I am and deeply informs my approach to therapy. I see this work not just as a career, but as a calling—something I’ve been gifted to do. I’m passionate about helping adults navigate life transitions, relational challenges, and the often-complex spaces in between. I particularly enjoy supporting high-achieving Black women, faith-based communities, and anyone seeking support along their personal journey, especially when it intersects with questions of direction and healing.

Whether I’m in one-on-one sessions, leading group work, or consulting with churches, I aim to offer a space that is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and rooted in hope. My goal is to walk alongside others as they move through the gray areas of life—toward clarity, healing, and transformation.

  • “Living in the Gray requires us to stretch. It necessitates that we create a landing area in the ‘in between’ space, as we recognize that things are not black and white.”
